This course is for individuals who are non-healthcare providers. Topics: 1) CPR and relief of choking in adults, children, and infants; 2) first aid emergency on how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Upon successful completion, students will receive American Heart Association Heartsaaver CPR/First Aid cards (valid for two years). NOTE: Participants should wear comfortable clothing because we will be working with training manikins on the floor. It is important to understand that the manikin portion of the course will involve strenuous physical activity. Training sessions will involve close physical contact with fellow participants. Participants should postpone CPR training if: they are in the active stages of an infectious disease; they have reason to believe they have been exposed to an infectious disease; they have sore on the hands, mouth or face.
