This course teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both in and out of hospital settings. This course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. It includes adult, child, and infant rescue techniques. This course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in and out of hospital settings. The course will consist of lecture and practice on CPR manikins.
NOTE: Participants should wear comfortable clothing because we will be working with training manikins on the floor. It is important to understand that the manikin portion of the course will involve strenuous physical activity. Training sessions will involve close physical contact with fellow participants. Participants should postpone CPR training if: they are in the active stages of an infectious disease; they have reason to believe they have been exposed to an infectious disease; they have sore on the hands, mouth or face.
